Northumberland-based duo Landermason are the combined talents of multi-instrumentalist Fiona Lander (vocals, piano, clarinet, whistles, saxophones and recorder) and finger style-guitarist/singer Paul Mason.
Together they present a fabulous evening of entertainment covering a wide variety of musical genres along the way, including folk, classical and jazz. Their self-penned songs and tunes interspersed with striking arrangements of traditional classics such as ‘When the Boat Comes In’, 'The Lambton Worm’ and 'The Water of Tyne’ provide a lovely contrast for an audience.
Landermason have recorded and produced 5 studio albums, an EP and a charity single on their own label LAMA Records. They have also enjoyed airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4 as well as on many other radio stations across the network. Their recording of ‘Dance to Your Daddy’ was used for an episode of the BBC’s Antiques Road Show and their track ‘Somalia’ was used in the BBC3 documentary ‘Escape from The World’s Most Dangerous Place’ narrated by Scarlett Johansson.
Their live sound is impressive, full of variety and with plenty of audience interaction. They have built up a loyal following of fans who seem to love their folky/jazz mix of traditional and contemporary music!
Often described as ‘refreshingly different’, Landermason are equally at home entertaining audiences in folk and acoustic clubs, theatres, festivals, village halls and churches and are proud to have performed as some of the UK’s best known live music venues.
Tonight they look forward to performing in Fenham for the first time!
